A Premium Landscape Photography Experience
Winter in Death Valley National Park is unlike anything else in the American West. The light is low and sculptural, the air is crisp and clear, and the desert reveals a depth, mood, and elegance that few ever truly experience.
This exclusive workshop pairs the surreal vastness of Death Valley with the dramatic foregrounds and iconic backdrops of the Alabama Hills—creating a powerful and diverse portfolio-building experience.
This is not a tour.
This is a refined, group photographic experience designed for those who want to slow down, see deeply, and create meaningful work.
Small Group, Maximum Attention
Limited to a select number of participants, this workshop ensures direct, hands-on instruction in the field and in the classroom. You won’t be competing for compositions—you’ll be refining them.
Advanced Creative Approach
This experience is designed for photographers ready to move beyond “taking photos” and into crafting images:
Seeing abstract form, line, and light in complex landscapes
Working intentionally with atmosphere, shadow, and tonal depth
Building cohesive portfolio-quality work
Elite Location Strategy
We focus on timing, conditions, and positioning—not just locations:
Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes at first light
Badwater Basin under changing sky conditions
Zabriskie Point and surrounding formations in sculpted light
Remote, lesser-known areas most photographers never reach
Alabama Hills arches aligned with Mount Whitney
Flexible, Condition-Based Shooting
We adapt daily to weather, light, and conditions to maximize opportunities. The goal is not to follow a rigid plan—but to be in the right place when it matters most.
This workshop is immersive, intentional, and deeply focused on your growth as an artist.
Each day is structured around the best light:
Sunrise & Morning Field Sessions – working dynamic light, patterns, and evolving conditions
Midday Reset & Instruction – rest, critique, and advanced post-processing sessions
Afternoon/Evening Field Sessions – dramatic light, atmosphere, and composition refinement
You’ll receive:
In-field composition guidance tailored to your vision
Real-time feedback to elevate your work immediately
Post-processing instruction focused on refinement, not over-processing
Portfolio guidance to help shape a cohesive body of work
