In the remote desert landscapes surrounding Hanksville, Utah, the earth reveals itself in ways that can only truly be seen from above. This small-group drone photography workshop is designed to immerse you in one of the most visually striking regions of the American Southwest—where sculpted badlands, winding washes, and otherworldly formations create an endless canvas of form, texture, and light. Together, we’ll explore iconic locations such as Factory Butte, the Moonscape Overlook, and the edges of Capitol Reef, focusing on the art of aerial composition, visual simplification, and crafting compelling, portfolio-worthy imagery from a unique perspective.
Working in a small, focused group, we will venture into iconic locations including Factory Butte, the Moonscape Overlook, and the outer reaches of Capitol Reef. Each day is built around the best light, with sunrise and sunset field sessions that allow you to fully engage with the landscape as it reveals its depth and dimension. Between sessions, we’ll dive into image review and post-processing, refining your work and developing a deeper understanding of how to translate what you see from the air into strong, intentional photographs.
